the Lord and i talk about the weather often. usually i’m asking Him to hold back the rain, bring in the sun, clear up the sky, calm the wind, warm the temperature— really taking advantage of the fact that i can ask the Creator of all things to prove the weather app wrong.

and while i could go on about how many times He has answered with a hearty “yes!”, even beyond what i’ve asked, it would be better if you & i just met up for a cup of coffee to talk about how kind He has been.

this day, as i was driving out to the mountains (where i could see the sun was not present) i found myself asking the Lord to provide in this specific way, yet again. and honestly i was fully convinced that He would lasso the sun to the back of my car, bringing it out to set on ty & ashley, as He has done before. but His answer this time was more so along the lines of, “no claire, I want there to be clouds instead of sun tonight.”

photography is such a gift. not only in the act of documenting itself, but the ways that the God of the universe has so practically poured out blessing and abundance on this work. above everything that it has taught me, the thing that i have learned the most, is that His ways are indeed higher than mine!!!
